The anime that I have suggested below do not necessarily have to be currently airing anime, or even recently released anime for that matter. These are just series that I have watched and I would recommend.
Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo (a.k.a. The Pet Girl of Sakurasou) Though it seems like your average slice of life anime it just has a special feel to it which made it into one of my favorite slice of life series. If you are even slightly interested in this type of genre definitely needs to be watched. Plot: (Source: Anime Planet) Sorata Kanda has a real problem - he just can't say no to the cute face of a kitten! However, his lovely strays have finally landed him in trouble, as his dorm doesn't allow keeping pets. Given an ultimatum to get rid of the cats or move out, Sorata makes the mistake of standing up for himself and finds himself exiled to Sakurasou, the home of misfits the school doesn't know what to do with. Yet the more he spends time there, Sorata sees they all have their own incredible talents. None, however, enthralls him more than the latest arrival: Mashiro Shiina, a world class artist who is seemingly incapable of feeding or clothing herself! Since none of the other residents have a shred of responsibility, the onus of 'Mashiro Duty' falls to Sorata; what will become of Sorata and his latest stray, and will he ever achieve his goal of escaping Sakurasou? |
Shokugeki no Souma (a.k.a. Food Wars) I never thought I would enjoy a show based on cooking as much as I have enjoyed this one. A currently airing show at the time this post was published. I would recommend it for any and all anime fans. Plot: (Source: Crunchyroll) Food Wars! Shokugeki no Souma centers on Yukihira Souma, a middle school student who is determined to surpass his father’s culinary skills. One day, his father decides to close down their family restaurant and hone his skills in Europe. Before leaving, he enrolls Souma in an elite culinary school that is extremely difficult to enter with a graduation rate of only 10 percent. Will Souma be able to improve his skills, or will the kitchen prove to be too hot? |
Zankyou no Terror (a.k.a. Terror in Resonance) An anime series with very interesting characters that fit in well with the overall concept of the anime. This short anime series of just 11 episodes is effective in drawing in its viewer to its story. Again another series that I would recommend to all anime fans. Plot: (Source: Anime News Network) On a summer day, a massive terrorist bombing suddenly struck Tokyo. The culprits behind the act that woke up this complacent nation from its slumber, were just two boys. Now, the culprits known as "Sphinx" begin a grandiose game that encompasses all of Japan. |
